IPTV on Samsung Smart TV
Use Smart IPTV or IBO Player directly on your Samsung (Tizen) TV.
Samsung TVs run Tizen, not Android, so Android apps do not install. The good news is that native players exist: Smart IPTV (SIPTV) and IBO Player are both available for Tizen and are what we set up for Samsung owners every day.
Registration is by your TV's MAC address or device ID, so you do not type usernames or long URLs with the remote. Send us the ID and we link your playlist.
Steps
- 1
Open the Samsung app store
Press Home, go to Apps and search “Smart IPTV” or “IBO Player”.
- 2
Install
Select Install and open the app.
- 3
Note the ID
The app shows a MAC address or Device ID (and key).
- 4
Message us the details. We register your playlist.
- 5
Restart
Close and reopen the app. Your channels appear.
Tips for a smooth picture
- Use a wired connection if your TV has Ethernet. Samsung Wi-Fi radios are often weaker than a stick's.
- If the app is not found, check your TV year and region settings: some older models have limited stores.
- A Fire TV Stick on the HDMI port is a fallback for older Samsung models.
Recommended apps
Smart IPTV (SIPTV)
The standard app for Samsung and LG TVs, with a one-time MAC address registration.
IBO Player
Lightweight and fast. A good fit for older Fire TV sticks and smart TVs with limited memory.
